There are a few things to try if you are experiencing Bluetooth connection issues.

  • My scanner does not show when attempting to connect to a paired LeafTech device.

    • Wait for the scanner to fully boot.

      • Scanners can connect to the phone's Bluetooth before the scanner's indicator LED blinks 3 times.

    • Check your Bluetooth permissions for the LeafTech App.

      • iPhones require permissions to access Bluetooth functions.  This may have been missed when installing the app.

        • Open the Settings app under Privacy & Security and select Bluetooth.  Verify that the toggle next to the LeafTech Ag App is set to "on."

  • My scanner was working fine earlier in the day.  Bluetooth is now disconnecting or dropping.

    • Check that the battery has more than one bar on the status indicator.  The scanner will lose connection if it does not have enough battery power.

    • Is the scanner HOT?

      • Excessive heat can cause the electrical components to complete a safety shut down.

        • Move the scanner to the shade or an air conditioned vehicle.

          • Contact support.

  • My scanner randomly drops connections.

    • Possible interference with other Bluetooth devices.

      • Are there other Bluetooth devices in the area?  Smartwatches, headphones, vehicle stereos can compete for bandwidth.

        • Try powering off the other devices to see if that helps stabilize the connection.

    • The scanner may have rebooted.

      • Please watch the scanner's indicator LED to see if it blinks 3 times after a dropped Bluetooth connection.

        • Contact support.
